Agency – Norway’s national football team coach Stale Solbakken has opened about Ballon d’or 2023 winner. During an interview, Stale Solbakken predicts Lionel Messi to be the Ballon d’Or winner.
During a conversation with VG, Solbakken was asked about his opinion on Ballon d’Or. While answering that question, he didn’t hesistate to mention Messi’s name. Solbakken says that Messi will win the Ballon d’Or because of winning the World Cup.
Stating that the competition for the Ballon d’Or title will be mainly between Messi, Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe, Solbakken said that there is a high possibility that Messi will be the winner.
“This competition will probably be between Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland. If you ask me who will win, I will name Messi. Messi can win because he won the World Cup. The influence of the World Cup is still there,” Solbakken said.
Although there are 30 players nominated for the Ballon d’Or, this time the competition will be mainly between Messi and Haaland. Haaland won the Champions League, Premier League and FA Cup with Manchester City.
He scored 52 goals for City throughout the season. Likewise, Messi won the League One title while staying at Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and won the World Cup for Argentina. Messi had a great performance in the World Cup. Messi was declared the best player of the tournament in the World Cup.
