Agency – American club Inter Miami faced the New York Red Bulls on Sunday morning. Miami faced New York in the first Major League Soccer (MLS) game since the arrival of Argentine star Lionel Messi.
Messi scored in his MLS debut as Miami won 2-0. Despite not having Messi in the starting XI, Miami held their own against New York. Miami took the lead before Messi entered the field.
Diego Gomez gave Miami the lead in the 37th minute with a superb finish off Noah Allen’s pass. Later, Messi who entered the field in the middle of the game also scored a goal.
Messi scored in the 89th minute of the match with a great pass from Benjamin Cremasi. Cremasi was given the pass by Messi himself. Jordi Alba’s excellent pass was met by Messi inside the box.
He beat four defenders and delivered a through-ball to Benjamin Cremasi. Benjamin passed the ball to Messi again and Messi scored a great goal. That goal was Messi’s first in MLS.
After arriving in America, Messi has played a total of 9 games for Miami. Meanwhile, he has scored 11 goals. Messi has scored 9 and one goals in the Leagues Cup and US Open respectively and one goal in the Major Soccer League.
